Tajin Chilli Arbol Package 75g, [ Chile Arbol, Chili Arbol]

Particularly popular in Guadalajara, arbol chilies have a searing but clean heat ideal for making piquant broths or fiery hot sauces.

Not only is this pepper terrific as a chili powder or in hot sauces, it’s skinny and tiny enough to flavor foods, olive oil, and beverages as a whole dried pod. And, unlike other peppers, these chili pods keep their beautiful reddish tint when dried. This adds some serious wow factor in a bottle or as a garnish to a meal or spicy cocktail.

The De Arbol chilie is said to have originated in Mexico. The name “De Arbol” means “tree like” in Spanish and was named that because of its long woody stem. This chilie, which is related to the cayenne and pequin, has a rich red colour and a thin flesh.

This chiile packs a bit of a punch rating around a 6 to 7 on a heat scale of 1 to 10. Behind the heat is a tannic, smoky, slightly earthy flavor. Try using these chilies in salsas, sauces, soups and stews.
